“Bra Art” an inspirational exhibition of Arty Bra’s & Bra Art to tantalise, enjoy and amuse, made by a diverse range of Artists with proceeds benefiting Breast Cancer Charities.
How this Exhibition came to be
Vicki Nottage was an Artist, a business women and a patron of the arts. Vicki helped with the establishment of the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery and the Murraylands Arts and Crafts Collective in Murray Bridge. She was on the board of Country Arts SA for several years, ran a successful retail craft supply business and taught embroidery classes. In January of 2001 my friend and mentor Vicki Nottage was diagnosed with Breast cancer. She struggled through surgery, chemotherapy, hair loss, weight gain, and all the fun stuff associated with cancer treatment. Despite illness she was still fun loving, a caring mother and wife and a creative artist. In November of 2002 Vicki Nottage lost her battle with Breast cancer. Her sacrifice changed my life and view on living every day! This exhibition commemorates the 10 year anniversary of her passing and I hope it will generate an outpouring of artistic love in our community to support breast cancer awareness, research and facilities. 72% from the sale of exhibited “BraArt” entries and 100% of profits from related souvenir sales will go towards Breast Cancer charities.
I know many other people have similar stories of love and loss and so this is also an opportunity for them to share their support through Art.
