I live in the Murraylands area which is about 80km or around an hours drive from Adelaide, the capitol city in South Australia.

The Murray River runs through my home town of Murray Bridge and winds it way through surrounding areas.

You can take a scenic drive along the South Eastern Freeway from Adelaide to Murray Bridge.

Stop off in Hahndorf, a beautiful tourist destination full of shops and cafes. Visit the Hahndorf Academy gallery to get your bearings at the informations centre and learn about the famous artist Hans Heysen.

Murray Bridge itself offers several galleries and cafes for your perusal. Or you can head of to see the Monaro Safari Park which is an open range zoo spread over 1500 hectares nearby.

You could head over to the township of Mannum which is upstream on the river to see the paddle steamer museum and gallery.
